Old mouse or New Mouse – its still a Rodent

Finally the first democratic election of The Republic of Maldives is over with the announcement of the temporary or let’s says unofficial results, in which the ruling party got 45 % and the opposition got 55% of the total votes.

But what really amazed me the most during the whole episode from the preliminary campaign to the knock out stage to the final show down was that families parting ways and seeking hatred towards each other.

Father discarding the right of the son calling him “dad” because they both supported a different party,

A sweet loving couple getting divorced on the name of this,

A family separating its members on two halves supporting different parties,

Relatives stop going meeting and welcoming other relatives who supported another party?

A friend who played on the same sand for years and studied together and went for coffee together now hates the sight of each other?

Is this what we really wanted out of this so called “CHANGE”? Is this the CHANGE we were talking about? Is this what the Maldivian really wanted? Or should this whole process have gone in a better way? In the coming days we are going to see many shattered hearts and many shattered lives.

A logical man would have never brought politics into there personal life, but here the educational level is high but still the means of imparting the knowledge was not done properly nor bringing the reform was done properly.

Did any of the party try to mention this in any of there public appearance and shows and briefings saying that Politics should be different from personal life because,

When you are sick – you are not going to depend on any of these leaders as they would never remember you once they get the stardom. Ultimately it would be your family who is going to come to your aid at any time of the day to rescue you from any crises.

I personally believe that “whether an old mouse or a new rat comes into the seat, they still would be a rodent and eat whatever comes in there ways and when the greed rise beyond a level they would try to go into other holes and steal the cheese and you would be left alone to eat just your bread without any those sweet greasy thing applied on it

Live the life the way you want it who ever or what ever is there – Live the life to the maximum but live life with love and peace and this can be attained only with your loved ones so keep them beside you and start to break that barriers which were created during this whole episode.

LETS MOVE ON!!!

i think your not totally correct….the chances for corruption is much less cause of the independent authorities which monitor the situation and report it to public..keeping leaders “in check”…at least this will be better than the last 30 or so years…
